Your information
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Woomeout (“Woomeout”, “we”, “us”) runs the Woomeout dating app and woomeout.com. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, email hello@woomeout.com.
What we collect
What you give us
- Your account: your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender and who you’re interested in.
- Your profile: photos, your bio, prompt answers, interests and your voice intro.
- What you send: messages, photos, videos and voice notes in chat, your Cruise Cards answers, and the date invites and venues you choose.
- Support and safety: messages you send our support team, and reports you make about other members.
Verification
If you choose to get verified, the app runs a short liveness check on your phone and takes one still photo. We compare it with one of your profile photos using Amazon Rekognition, save the result (verified or not), and delete the still straight away. We don’t keep a face template.
Location
With your permission, we use your phone’s location to show you people nearby and how far away they are. Other members only ever see a rounded distance, such as “2 km away”, never your exact position. You can turn location off in your phone’s settings, but Discover needs it to work.
Calls
Voice and video calls are carried live by our calling provider, Agora. We don’t record your calls. We keep basic call records (who called whom, when, and for how long) so we can run the service and count call time.
Purchases
Subscriptions and coins are bought through Apple or Google, or on our website through Paystack. We receive a record of what you bought. We never see or store your full card details.
Your device and how you use the app
Your device type, app version and notification tokens, and how you use the app (for example which screens you open), collected with Google Analytics for Firebase. We also keep basic logs to keep Woomeout secure and working.
How we use it
- To run Woomeout: your profile, Discover, matches, chat, calls, Cruise Cards and dates.
- To show you people nearby and how far away they are.
- To keep members safe: verification, keeping phone numbers out of chat, reviewing reports, and suspending accounts that break our Terms.
- To handle payments and give you your plan’s features.
- To contact you: codes and account emails (sign-in, password resets, sign-in alerts, receipts), and optional updates such as who liked you, which you can turn off.
- To fix problems and improve the app.
- To meet our legal duties.
What other members can see
Your profile (name, age, photos, bio, prompts, voice intro and verified badge) and your rounded distance. They can’t see your email address, phone number or exact location. If you share your profile with a link, anyone who has the link can see a preview of your profile.
Sensitive information
In some countries, information such as your gender and who you’re interested in counts as sensitive. You choose to give it to us so we can show you to the right people, and we use it only for that. Your verification photo is used only to check it matches your profile, and is then deleted.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that help us run Woomeout, and only for that purpose:
- Amazon Web Services: servers, storage, database, sign-in, email, text messages and verification.
- Agora: voice and video calls.
- Google: Firebase (app analytics and notifications), and Maps and Places for venues.
- Apple: notifications on iPhone, and App Store purchases.
- RevenueCat: managing app subscriptions and purchases.
- Paystack: payments on our website.
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety.
Where it’s stored
Our servers are run by Amazon Web Services, so your information may be stored and processed outside your country. When it is, we use the protections the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When your account is deleted, we delete your profile, photos, voice intro, matches and chats. We keep payment records for 6 years after the end of the tax year they belong to, to meet tax duties and to settle disputes, and safety records (reports about an account and the action we took) for 2 years, to keep people we’ve removed from coming back. How to delete your account.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your information, object to or limit how we use it, and withdraw your consent (for example to location, notifications or verification) at any time. To do any of this, email hello@woomeout.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority, such as the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, or the authority in your country.
Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring. No system is perfect, so please use a strong password and keep it to yourself.
Age
Woomeout is only for adults aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete the account. If someone tells us they’re under 18 while signing up, we delete the account straight away and keep only a coded copy of their email address until their 18th birthday, so it can’t be used to sign up before then.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For important changes, we’ll also tell you in the app or by email.
